The Tehran Times reported on April 9 that Iranian President Pezenizyan said at a high-level meeting to accelerate the construction of renewable energy power generation in the country that the Iranian government is committed to supporting investment in renewable energy and encouraging the joint participation of the private and public sectors in the construction of this field. Pezenizyan proposed that the government's long-term goal is to phase out fossil fuels in transportation, industry and all areas of daily life, and asked the minister of Energy, the chairperson of the Organization for Planning and Budgeting and the governor of the central bank to simplify the investment process and give priority to supporting the development of renewable energy.
