On June 8th, news came from the Bohai Oilfield
A billion-ton oilfield cluster in the Bohai Sea
Kelin 10-2 Oilfield Cluster Development Project (Phase I)
The central processing platform successfully completed the floating installation.
Destroying the offshore oil and gas platforms in the Bohai Sea area
Size and weight records
The project construction has made significant progress.
The central processing platform installed this time is a 3-story, 8-legged multi-functional offshore platform integrating production and living facilities. It is 22.8 meters in height, with a projected area equivalent to that of 15 standard basketball courts. The designed weight exceeds 20,000 tons and it is the heaviest and largest offshore oil and gas platform in the Bohai Sea to date. The platform's weight exceeds the capacity limit of domestic offshore floating cranes. The project team used the floating lifting technology to install it at sea.
The components of this floating lift are large in weight and size. During the load transfer process, the substructure bears a large weight, and the target sea area has a relatively shallow water level, with the main operation vessel's bottom being only 1.7 meters away from the substructure. The floating lifting operation requires a high level of berthing and load adjustment capabilities of the barge.
The project team utilized digital twin technology for 3D modeling and computational analysis, precisely designing the floating support technology scheme; they independently developed multi-floating-drum catenary calculation software and dynamic mooring coordination control system, repeatedly optimizing the mooring layout; they conducted key operation pre-experiments in virtual simulation and formulated countermeasures for identified operational risks.
